Hi! i'm steve and i have a 1988 GMC S-15 (same as the s-10). i have a stock LQ9 out of an 01 suburban that i'm going to swap into the truck hopefully this summer...i would like to know:
1. will the motor mounts be different from those of the LS1's? (i also own a 2000 Z28 or i'm addicted to those motors)
and 2. will an f-body t-56 fit up to the LQ9?

thanks for any input! also if anyone has done the swap already, tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated

i just saw that i put this in the V8 conversion forum...not the LS conversion...but i figured that since it's an LQ9, it was ok...but if this needs to be moved please do so..hahah sorry

Welcome! I think the answers are 1. yes and 2.yes. You might have to relocate the shifter forward of where it is on a f-body for a truck. The tunnel might be a bit small as the t-56 is a pretty big tranny.

yeah i didn't think of the actual size of the tranny...i could probably fab something up and just cut a different hole in the floor of the cab...i'll make it fit hahaha
