I have been to 10 junk yards and no one will sell me the plastic
vortec intake cover. The dealer wants $50. Some one has to have one laying
around. The 5.3l intake looks like a** w/ out that cover.

You just gotta check around... I found one from a guy who put an escalade front end on his truck and switched his over to the caddy cover. I got it from him for $28 shipped.
