    GenIV Swap Electronics ????

This is my first LS swap and what would you know I am getting a run for my money already. I had been wanting to swap a 6.0 into my 99 k2500 5.7 obs for some time now. I called my local truck savage and they said they had a 09 ly6. I am thinking great. Not long after I find out that the ly6 electronics are different that earlier ls systems.
I have been trying for figure out how to make it work, and this I where I am at so far. Please correct me if I am wrong. *Using the ly6 pcm (e38) I will need a tcm (e72) to control my 4l80e. But the e38 will not work with my factory gauges.
*If I use Lingenfelters 58x 24x conversion module I can use an earlier ls ecm like a 0411, but would need to get a dbc throttle body and delete vvt.

im almost finished putting a ly6 into my 95 c2500... the vvt is pretty useless as far as making more power. GM uses it to help with fuel economy....On the LY6 i put in my 08 sierra i deleted the vvt in it. Also deleted the vvt on the Ly6 for my 95 c2500. Just did a cam swap this past weekend on my dads 2012 2500HD with the Ly6 and also deleted his vvt. Thing flat hauls A$$!!!! Runs so much better than it did with the vvt IMO.

For my 95 im running a 0411 PCM, Lingenfelter box, edlebrock DBC TB, and a holley 20-147 throttle cable bracket

Thanks for the reply chvy=power. I am assuming that its not exactly cheap to delete vvt? Is the problem with using the factory ly6 setup, the e38 pcm won't operate the gauges. I have been searching high and low and have little to help me understand.

its actually not very expensive at all. Type "vvt delete" in google and you will see that summit racing sells a vvt delete kit for $123 and some change....and yea im not too familiar with the E38 pcm. I always use an 0411 pcm, and it has worked great

I guess I was thinking that I had to change the cam also.

After countless searches for a LY6 pinout I finally went to the dealer and they printed out one for me. I had looked at Lt1swap.com but it said it was not for ly6. From what I can tell it's the same except the high and low cooling fan relay. Now I just need to find what wires I need to keep on my 99 harness. I am thinking probably get rid of everything that I am using on the new harness.
