Not saying it can't happen but cams are made of cast iron and they generally break instead bending.

Take it to a machine shop and have them put it in a lathe and run a dial indicator on it to see if its bent. If its not bent I would be looking at the bearings.

Im gonna say wrong bearing or the bearing has a bur on it, and if it was the machine shop hammering on your cam to get it to go in, I believe Id find a new shop.

^^^ xx2!!! Most likely since the last bearing is usually the hardest to get in it could have been burred on install. If it was bent it wouldn't have gone al the way to the back. On the other hand it's possible but not likely the factory cut was off. Was this a used cam or new cam
