looking to purchase a truck, tuning related question

Im looking at purchasing a 06 silverado from auction, It was a repossion so there are no keys. Truck is in mint shape, Id really hate to pick it up only to rip it to pieces as a partout. Is there any tuning that can be done by nelson or anyone else to bypass the "theft immobilizer" So all id need to do is have a key made.

i may be using the wrong terminology. "theft immobilizer" thats what it is referred to in the volkswagens im familiar with.

Iv lost a key to mine. Just called a dealer and took my registration in and they made me a new one fairly priced. Assuming your legally own this one should be a painless path to do

Get with the dealer ahead of time, and see what they recommend for your particular situation. I'm sure it won't be the first time they've heard of something like this.

Thanks for the input guys, ill check in with the local dealership to see what they suggest. I can tow the truck down there, having a bill of sale, but title takes a couple weeks to get in. It'll drive me nuts having it sit in the driveway waiting on a title just to find out if it runs.

I think turning off VATS with EFI Live would fix this for you, but honestly getting a key made isn't a big deal. Call your dealership and ask them what you can bring in for proof.
