    5.3 alternator

    I have a 5.3 I am going to install in my truck. Are you guys leaving the alternator wiring alone and letting the pcm control it or hooking it up in a way it works like the old alternator? By the way mine has 2 sires one is the l terminal wire and the other is the field duty wire

    If yours is the 2 pin alternator it has to be operated with the PCM.

    Mine is one wire. The wire is for the battery light.

    Ok thanks guys. One more question. Do you have a battery light somehow connected in somehow to know when the alternator isnt working properly?
