Weir t56 bell housing bolt up 2 a lsx motor?

In my 86, I have a 78 block mated to an lt1 t56 using the wier hot rod products adapter kit. What is it gonna take to bolt this up to a 6.0? I've been told it would work but the top bolt wouldn't b used. Will this work, or is there a better way? I'm also concerned with how much horsepower that this tranny will hold. I'm looking at heads, cam, injectors and possibly even a turbo. This setup has less than 100 miles on it and is in a custom truck where the floor board has been built around the trans, so I really hate to change it out. I could possibly end up having any to rebuild the floor boards. Thoughts and opinions?

    Thanks
    Trey

Can anyone tell me if I swap out the 350 with lt1 t56 for a 6.0 with ls1 t56, if the shifter will fall in or close to the same position? Will the floor board b the same shape or is there a big difference in shape with the two trans/bell housing?

    Thanks

I just converted my lt1 t56 to a ls1 t56. Research dude, i read over a hundred pages in forums before starting the swap. I think the ls1 t56 shifter is farther back from what i could tell, the bellhousing was longer on the ls1 style(not much at all though). I'll see if i can find some stuff for ya.

Ok thanks. I tried searching but couldn't get it to work with the small letters (t56 lt1 ls1 etc). I'll keep looking around.

    Thanks

http://m.performancetrucks.net/forum...1877&styleid=4 this is what i used, over 100 pages and almost every one had something useful on it. Good luck with your swap. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions.

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...n/viewall.html also used this same company. Just be prepared, the conversion cost about $700. Not the $400 they claim, because transmissions require things like bellhousings. Of which are not cheap!
