    raise the lifters, which would in turn raise the push rods and also the rocker arms, which would open the valves and help the engine run.

    Basically the LS9 is a big cam comparatively for an OEM. The specs are something like 211/230 .558/.552 122.5 LSA. Which is darn close to some aftermarket cams. I can think of at least one cam that was taken out of production, due to the similarities. It is a good budget cam. However, in a 5.3 you will face the fact that it will move your powerband up substantially. A stall with a speed of at least 3k would be needed to make it effective. Also depending on what year 5.3 you have you will need valve springs, pushrods, and the supporting swap odds and ends. In a stock 5.3 you might gain 40hp all in the upper rpm ranges with some loss of bottomend and it would love boost or spray.

    Agree, much better baby cams out there making great power! Id stick to what works n/a not a fi cam in a n/a set up!

    Don't do it. Been in a couple trucks with that cam. Not worth it.
