Help with Headers & Y pipe.....

I picked up set pf DynaTech LT headers for my truck, and now I am wondering what to do about the Y pipe.

Will the headers install using the factory Y pipe? Would the factory Y pipe restrict the headers from making their max power? If so, how much restriction?

If I went with a DynaTech catted Y pipe would the power gained over the factory Y pipe be enough to validate spending the money for the DynaTech Y pipe?

No stock ypipe won't fit and the only reason for buying their ypipe is to make instal simple. Fabricating the ypipe is a great option.

Factory y-pipe definitely will not work unless you cut it pretty much right at the 2-1 joint, and start fresh from there.

Don't forget you will need to have the rear O2s deleted via a custom tune.

They're not near as restrictive as they used to be, and my truck doesn't stink with exhaust.

Straight y-pipe?,this doesn't make sense to me anything that's not shorty headers is gonna lose some low end but will more than make up for it on the top end, gears would def fix the low end issue

Let me rephrase it. What I meant by a "straight Y pipe" is a non-catted Y pipe.
