2006 model 4.8 with a 24x reluctor wheel? .......and timing se question

the 5.3 (01 model)in my race truck kind of gave up so i had an 06 model 4.8 laying around with low miles...it has the black crank sensor and i pulled the pan and it has 24x reluctor wheel....so it should work just fine....rite?...every place i see on the web says there not made after 04................also can i use an early timing set and gears with my cam swap or ?..........sorry for the questions that im sure have been asked before...thanks for all the help
