ive got a 2008 silverado 5.3 swap into my 90' 1500 and was wondering what wires i need to connect for an aftermarket tach to get signal

on the green pcm plug it will be pin #10.it will be a white wire.

ok cool, so i dont need to cut it just tap directly into it?

i believe it goes from the pcm into the c100 plug that goes into the truck firewall...you will have to remove that connector anyway so you can cut it away and connect it to the tach.
