After reading this forum I'm dead on for Nelson's....

Nelson's I feel can get a better tune from the hundreds of thread's that I have compared. With that in mind here's what I'm working with

04 2500hd 4x4 ext cab shortbed. 6.0 auto. Everything is stock. I *might* add a quiet magnaflow exhaust and an airaid intake one day. That's if it really even helps out. I may just add the exhaust and put the airaid intake tube on.

    Disable Abuse Mode
    89/93 dual tune????????????????
Remove Torque management 100% (engine/trans) 100% of engine/transmission in tow/haul mode--keep shifts firm like original factory tune while in tow/haul mode.
Still allow me to tow if I need it---another 4wd on a tandem axle trailer...
    No speed limit
No fuel shut off for vehicle speed
    Rev-limiter 5800 ???
Shift firmness the same as factory
Shift points the same as factory

What else? Help me put together a sweet tune. I'm looking for performance/a pinch better gas mileage. Performance comes first. Torque management blows. When I nail the gas to the floor, I want instant response. I know it's not a race car, and it's not going to be treated as one. I baby the truck, have had it over a year and haven't even broke 10,000 miles. When I need the power I want it there.

Go to Nelson's website and fill out the tune form based on what you want. Much of what you covered here will be found on the form. Allen will call you to talk through your config and provide some advice for sure.

Not exactly knowing your application, the only thing I'd question is your choice of removing all TM. Unless your tranny is built, you may want to go with what Allen recommends.

on what bud8fan says about the octane tuning. I got the 91/93 dual, but plan to go straight 93 on my next update.

Enjoy your tune, we all do

Wasn't paying attention to the fact you have the HD setup. Nice!

The advice I've seen for the 4L60E is keep some TM unless it is built. I don't know w/ regards to the 4L80E. Some other guys here may be able to answer that for you.

    Sorry for the confusion.

You can go more aggressive with the 91/93 though cant you, at least on the 93 end? Or should I just get Allen to make the high octane on my straight 93 tune more aggressive? I know my truck can take more timing, but not sure how much, so I wanted something to fall back on if it detonates, but I didnt wanna drop all the way back to the 91 level.

So what's the difference between the 89 tune and the 87/89 tune?

How much of a difference am I looking at if I go with a 93?

The price of 93 here is high dollar so I'd really rather stay mid grade .....and still have the ability to tow heavy loads when needed..
