Contemplating what I should do with this 4.8 short block that I have.

So I have 4.8 short block sitting here and was contemplating what I should do with it. Im thinking bore it out to a 3.90X something or other and run the stock stroke and spin it to 7k+ Probably going to go in a 98 formula with some sort of turbo. I also have a set of 317 heads I could stick on it. Anybody got any crazy midget motor ideas?

I've wanted to do it for a while, 4.8 bored out to 3.905 gives you a short stroke 313" high end screamer

That would be a pretty sick little engine. How much cylinder wall would u have left? Just something to think about if u are wanting to boost it. 700th post Woohoo!!

I've always wanted to take a max bore LSX (4.2" I believe) and throw a 4.8 crank in it. Large bore would help out the torque issues, short stroke would take it to the top end. Cant wait until I get rich......

Not sure how much cylinder wall I would have left. From what I understand It shouldn't be an issue to punch one out to ls1 3.905 bore. Only problem I have now is I need to swap these 317's I have out for some 243's I calculated nearly a 8.2:1 cr with the 317's.

no need to punch it out to turn 7k. my stock 4.8 with a baby cam was shifting at 7300 and loving it.
its just a turbo 5.3 that a couple of kids threw together
