If you are willing to come to the valley I can have my cousin hook you up on a trans. He built mine and its golden. Has been for the last 5 years.

Actually I was wondering the same thing about the Monster in a Box kits they offer. Seems like a decent price for what they are offering. Bump for an answer on the question :-)

I'm trying to plan ahead as well. I have a tad over 120k on the truck right now. When I get the downtime with the truck, or get another car, I'm going to pull this tranny out and get it rebuilt. I like the specs on the Monster-in-a-Box kit, especially for the $$. I just want my tranny to be bulletproof without having to go the 4L80+ route.

If youre looking for bullet proof youre really not gonna find it with a 60e. Yes there are a FEW big HP trucks running a 60e, but there are stock trucks that destroy a "built" 60e.

I have a 65e thats built by my cousins shop. Is lasted through over 120k miles of me abusing it. Its held up with the abuse after the cam install. But I just dont trust it. I will be going 80e eventually. Right now its just a little too costly for me to convert to the 80e.

Cost is a huge issue with me as well. I don't think I will be doing anything radical enough with the 60e to warrant worrying about it after a rebuild, especially if I'm replacing the sun shell, increasing the steel/friction disk count, changing servos, and getting a good tune for it. I would like to up the power output (don't we all), but it would be nothing past 400rwhp I wouldn't think. I am just wanting a little piece of mind with the transmission. I believe this would work out okay for me, but want to make sure before I put the chunk of money down. I really don't want to go through the hassle or expense of putting an 80e in if I don't need to (with the understanding if I blow the 60e I will have wasted a bunch of money and time in the first place). I appreciate the input and will definitely keep it under advisement.
