    need cam help

just bought my buddys truck a month or so ago and its a beast to drive but it doesnt have a cam and im looking to put one in but i cant find one i like any where its mainly a street truck maybe hit the strip once a month but its got a lq9 out of a 04 ss with vet heads and a nelson tune. would a 114 lsa be too much or what?

05 RST with 04 LQ9 swapped with cast 243 vet heads and servo pacesetter long tubes into corsa db with cat and rear o2 delete nelson tunes and a built 4l60e.

no headers? a 114 lsa will make it sound close to stock pending on exhaust, most people look for a cam on the 112 lsa. something that isnt so radical would be around a 224/228 id look into a 581 lift cam.

first id look into a good exhaust with headers though. at lease a 3" Y pipe even 3" duals would be nice

i put a custom grind cam on a 114 lsa in a forged iron block 5.7 i built for a friend and it chops/lopes hard as my cam that is on a 111 lsa... a high lsa doesnt mean it will sound like stock. It mostly depends on the other specs of the cam, overlap being a big role player. A cam with a lower lsa with bring you into the power band lower down in the rpm range but wont have as broad of a power band of the same cam with a higher lsa. Im running a 226/230 .600 lift on a 111lsa in my ls1 and it runs and drives great. Go with a custom grind and skip all the headache of finding a cam you like...just my opinion

Try engpwrsys.com or vengeancerd.com they have good cams that would fit what ur looking for. Or you could goto comp cams website n use the camquest app to find one.
