Need new exhaust ideas

i just did a trade plus cash for my old set up. i am now running stock exhaust from the o/r y-pipe out the back in the stock location. i did this to kind of start from scratch. i have longtubes and an o/r y-pipe and want a clean kind of loud sound out of the truck. i dont really know how or where i want it to exit the truck either. just wanting some opinions on mufflers and exit locations.

Do you want mind numbing loud or just a good sounding loud?

This is my 3" SI/SO Magnaflow. 14" long 4" around round case.

i dont want anything to obnoxiously loud . i have had that and got tired of it real quick. your truck sounds pretty good though.

Thanks man. Im in the same boat as you....sick of not being able to have a decent conversation on the freeway without yelling.

Look at a 5x8x18 MagnaFlow. Nice sound at idle and mean at WOT

Believe me the thing is mean, but probabley louder than you are looking for. I would say something cool to see would be two 3"x14"x5" around round case magnaflows in a sequence. I think that would give you the cruising rumble with the screaming WOT.

Also Trav I have never noticed the black left behind on your paint by the exhaust. Does that crap wipe off or is it pretty nasty?

Its worse now than in that video....doesnt wipe off well, and is definitely caused by being too rich. Fixing the exhaust leaks should help take care of it. Added a little gasket maker on both sides of the MLS gaskets I have...not very good ones...so we will see if it helps or not. If not them Im gonna pull the gasket out completely and go head to flange with a good helping of Ultra Copper gasket maker. Still need to go through and double check the slip joints on the ORY to make sure they are sealing.

I have a BIG (I want to say 26" I do not recall at this moment in time) Magnaflow on my truck. 3" SI/SO, at idle it is quieter than stock as is cruise. Get on it in the slightest bit and it has a very nice tone, inside and out. And I can still have a conversation at 6400 rpm.
