    info on turbo build

    So here it goes;
    http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39460&p=437780#post437780

    Thinking about buying that turbo and putting it on my stock 03 z71(well has k&n cai and flowmaster exhaust and some kind of a programmer [the reason I say this is cause I can run past 98 mph and I believe chevy limits it trucks to 98 from factory]). I have 33 inch tires and 3.73 gears with a stock 4l60e, and I tow a 3-4k trailer 2-4 times a week. I am wondering if it would put to much stress on my transmission, and also would I need bigger injectors if I run low boost(5psi). Would I benefit much from a cam swap, and also what about tuning? Is it hard to tune with hp tuner? I never tuned before but I catch onto stuff pretty easily, so is it a good idea to do this? Also truck has like 101k miles.

    Best bet do the following...
    42lb injectors
    Upgrade fuel pump ex walbro 255
    Nelson tune
    Vette servo
    Bigger trans cooler
    That is a good start. Lots more you could do tho.
    A cam swap speced for your application could add another 50 to 100 HP depending on the cam and other factors.

    I believe the Guy with the Turbo for sale is selling the injectors for cheap. And new they r like 400 not 100% on that price tho. Pump is a bit over 100$. I think a complete bucket pump swap is less than 200$. Super easy way. Tune from NP is 300 mail order. Vette servo is 20ish. Trans coolers are under 200.

    So 1200 for most of it,wondering if I should got tvs instead, I like low end torque , but I think this would be cheaper though.

    I would say go Turbo for sure leaves room to grow! You can turn up the boost and add other fun stuff like Meth.

    Well the injectors pump and tune are pretty much necessary, but after that the Trans stuff is to help keep it happy. If you want more power down low get a stall turn up the boost and add Meth. Meth is great especially for nonintercooled rear mounts. A good cam ket speced right for ur setup will b about 700$ and could help a lot.

    You don't have to, up to 7lbs after that Meth, or an intercooler are needed. It helps with efficiency to run an intercooler.
