    6.2L / 6L80/85e owners

Have you noticed how hot these transmissions run? Typically around 200degs in traffic or hotter. Mine runs about 187deg during a long trip down the hiway. Last trip was to Laredo, averaged about 185degs back and forth.
When they first came out, we stuck a couple BM coolers between the radiator and ac condensor. We noticed a huge drop in transmission temperature.
We also bypassed the transmission cooler embedded in the radiator.

After the installation, we've noticed 130-140degs transmission temps on the highway and most of the racers can now hotlap their trucks non stop with no heat issues.
One customer just reported his trans temps won't get above 180degs after 15 consecutive laps down the track.

The trans temp will get even hotter after a higher stall converter is added.

I realized trans temps need to be brought up to operating temps, but we haven't seen any negative effects after making them run a lot cooler.

    Just an fyi, later,

if you're having heat issues with the trans, or it getting up to temp too fast or over 200degs (which is normal), get two B&M coolers on there.
The model with 1/2" in and out fittings, the largest one.
They may be physically smaller, but they cool better, imo.

Or we just do it for you next week

I watch mine pretty regular. I don't have much traffic driving, but when I beat the hell out of it, it never gets over 190. Luckily, and oddly enough that you make this post... Brown Santa stopped by today while I was at work.

Installed and drove around about 10 miles of cruising at 50 mph or so. Temps never got over 142. Seemed to stick at around 138. I wish I would have done AN lines and compression fittings, but I'm going to be out of town working next week and wanted to get this thing on. I may go back and do it that way later. I took out the stock cooler and simply replaced it with the 40k.

    Mock up.

Thin coat of flat black to hide it.

    Finished product.

And yes, I know it's ugly/dirty. I drive 200 miles of gravel and dirt roads a week. If I clean it now, it'll be like this again in a week.
