    Better "take off" performance?

Ok, my 2wd 05 Sierra CC is all stock except for 40 series Flowmasters right now. I eventually plan to upgrade a few things for better performance. One thing for sure is a Nelson tuned ecm, but I'm trying to find a way to come up with the 300 bones first. Until then, I have an issue. I've noticed that if I stick the throttle to the floor from a stand still(dig), the ecm doesn't let the engine rev up enough and it just has a very slow take off until about 25-30mph when it finally picks up a little rpm and starts to rev better. Is there any way to fix this without a full custom tune?

Yes. A higher stall torque convertor.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the TM, and what does it do? I know gears and a tune is really what I need, but until I can come up with the money, I was just going to see if there's a cheap fix for now. It's just aggravating knowing the power potential of even a stock truck, but the computer won't allow it to spin tires or even do a full throttle take off. I know it's "tuned" that way from the factory so the yuppies and soccer moms don't kill themselves.

Also, what gears are most of you guys running? I've got 3.23's now. I'm not sure if I would tell a big enough difference with 3.73's, but don't really want to run 4.10's. I think I saw somewhere that a 3.90 gear is available. Anyone running a 3.90 gear?

One more question. Short of calling and bugging the crew at Nelson, what are my tune options from Nelson? I don't want to be limited to 93 octane fuel and I really just want my engine to run to it's potential and have a proper gear shift from the trans.
