    confused on exactly what i need for 5.3/6.0 to manual swap

    have a 1996 k1500 wanting to drop in a 5.3 or 6.0 still debating.. wanting best mpg. could someone tell me what motor mounts i need? also do i need this spacer i keep reading about and what clutch will i have to use?thanks in advance for the help.

    This thread has a lot of good info on the swap you are doing. As for the tranny stuff, you are going to have to give more info as to what type of tranny you are using, whether it is a 4x4, and anything else you can think of. A lot of data on your swap will help get you the answers you desire.

    the truck is a reg cab currently has a 5.7. it is four wheel drive and has a regular 5 speed nothing like a granny low or anything. new to these older truck never owned anything older then a 2000 before. this truck was my grandfathers when he passed it was left to me.

    thanks alot. that is pretty much what i needed to know. what motor mounts did you use? also who did your harness and pcm? and if i read this correct the only part ill need ot buy is motor mounts adapt the fuel lines and by a new 4.8 manual fly wheel? thanks in advance
