    Fuel in oil pan!!

Hey guys I'm trying to get this 84 C-10 4.8L/4l60E swap finished up but I was changeing all the oils and
found fuel in my oil pan. I am also having trouble with the fuel pump my intake has a return line for the fuel pump. Can anybody help. I now need to buy the AC delco EP-381 in tank pump but can any one give me a reason why i was getting fuel in my oil system. And maybe help me route the fuel lines the correct why if I am doing something wrong.

Was it there to begin with? I don't know the history of the engine/tranny (did you get it from a junk yard or from your own wrecked vehicle?), but am wondering if you had ever changed out the oil from when you got it? Might have been there all along was my line of thinking. Just a thought.

History of engine and tranny were from a wrecked truck I own I still have the complete truck. I had just changed engine oil and changed the tranny oil before I installed it. I started the engine several times on the original truck with the modified PCM and worked fine once I removed and installed it in my c10 I had problems with the engine idle and engine start up once I would shut it off, it wouldn't restart until the next morning. By then my fuel pump died and that's when I ran into all these issues.

Have to wonder if the harness was damaged in the transfer to the '84. If it ran ok after the accident, then didn't after the swap, like you mentioned, it has to be the installation, no? Doesn't the PCM ground each injector to fire it? One of the injector leads may be constantly grounded, flooding a cylinder and letting all the residual system pressure bleed through it. I realize your pump quit on you, but when its back together, i'd be curious to know if it holds fuel pressure and for how long once you turn the key off. Also, I didn't catch what year the donor is, but if there's a regulator on the fuel rail, pull the vacuum line and see if it leaks any fuel at you. If so, the motor takes a pretty good gulp of fuel whenever it cranks, could be enough to materialize in your oil. Let us know what you find out.

ok heres the latest, i finally scrounged some cash to purchase the fuel pump, drained and replace oil and filter. Installed the pump and tried to fire it up
but my truck has a hard start. Had to mash the peddle to the floor just to get it started. i didnt check the vaccum line to see if it had fuel but i will check today.
