    how much hp do yout hink a factory 84 corvette has at rear wheels? this guys mouthing sayin his vette will stomp my silvy. n there was a malibu that had wut he said was a 355 but sounded like a 305 with open manifolds. butr all info appreciated.

    Those things had like 205 HP at the crank stock so maybe 170 at the wheels on a good day! Take Him!

    I had an 86 model and I think it was rated 230 at the crank, it ran good, I think the 84 was crossfire injected and will have less HP. He should still run fair and probably leave real good and will be about 800# to 1000# lighter. Either way you don't have much to loose and he wouldn't have a whole lot to bragg about.

    If it is a stock motor your truck will romp it in a straight line.

    I would put my money on the Vette but I would still give him a run just for a reference point, after you do some modds check him again and see if you gained any.

    you should be alright, it was the 83 vette you had to worry about
