OBS Homebuilt Long Bar Traction Bars

Decided to build a set a traction bars, started to make a home built set of Caltracs but I had some material lying around to make a Longbar setup.
Its only one pic(dang camera died), but I'll get more this weekend. Shounld have to brackets installed this weekend and hopefully have the other ends of the bars welded up

I tried everything(but shocks) to get rid of the violent wheel hop and now with the T56 transmission, oh man it lites the tires up with a quick press of the accelerator. So Im hoping this will eliminate the wheel hop once and for all.

And soon i'll get some videos of the truck driving with the T56.

I like it... looks just like what I am planning on doing with my dodge.

I would think it will help with wheelhop alot....from what I have seen these leafs like to wrap up and unload all of a sudden, these long bars should keep the leafs from wrapping up to begin with.

report back with us and post up if the wheelhop is gone

Some more pics. Welding up the other side of the bars today. Making more progress than I figured on.

Made the brackets out of 1/4 plate, tubing is 1 1/4 OD and 1 ID, bought some 5/8 Heim joints and weld on tube ends. I probaly have at the most $125 in the whole setup. $20 of that was the hardware.

looks as you have a better concept to a long bar then others do. your bars are pretty long, should help with transfer of energy thru chassis.

short bars dont work as well

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
