    no start issue AGAIN

well a while back i was having a issue with my yukon not starting when it got below a half tank sometimes. usualy when it gets to about a 1/3 of a tank left is when it starts having issues. it did it saturday morning when i got off from working a 16hr shift and i had to call my mom which lives right up from my work and i put 1gal of gas in from her mower gas can and coasted around the lot and it fired right up. i went and filled up at the station next door and it still had 9gals left in the tank! (31gal tank size) it never used to do this crap when i fist got it a little over two years ago but it seems in the past year its been giving me problems. once i swap out the heads on my silverado im gona dd it for awhile and drop the tank on my yukon and check the tank out and see whats goin on. anyone have any input?

The only thing that I could think of is that maybe your fuel line from the pump to the top of the sending unit has a hole in it and when your gas gets below a certain point it starts to suck air there and doesn't allow it to build enough pressure to start.... Just a guess

replace your fuel pump, it's fairly common. I get comcast work vans (express van) in here frequently with that problem.

The screen on the bottom of the pump may be clogged and is forcing the pump to pull fuel from inside the giant plastic thing it sits in. If the fuel level isnt high enough it wont fill up the plastic thing and thus starve your pump of fuel. it's a 7yr old pump, just put in a new one. And for gods sake don't use one from autozone!!!

Autozone actually carries a different brand now. The ones they had like 18 months ago were complete junk. They lasted 6 months on average. The new brand seems to be doing pretty good. Haven't seen any come back YET. Still too expensive though. Are like 250. I'm just going to buy a cheap 65 buck one off ebay, get a walbro, and call it a day. (Don't want to mess with wiring the walbro on a sending unit that reaks like gas, and my fuel gauge hasn't worked for like 6 years)
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

you can actually get the electric pump by itself if you want to take apart the plastic housing that its in
