    Question about the 4.8 to ls2 swap I just completed.

    First off the truck is running really good but I do have a few questions.

    On the old 4.8l out of the 02 there was a plug on the right side of the oil pan, kind of by the starter, there is not plug on the 08 ls2, does anyone know what that might be?

    And also if im not mistaken the oil pressure sending unit is about the oil filter on the 02 4.8 right? Well there is not place for it on the LS2, and the oil pressure gauge isnt working. Anyone have any ideas?

    The sensor that was on the pan of the 4.8 below the starter was the oil level sensor. The 4.8 should have had a oil pressure sensor on the top of the motor behind the valley cover towards the firewall. The LS2 will be in the valley cover itself. They should be within a few inches of each other.

    I know you told me I can just swap pans for the oil level, but is there an oil lever sensor on the ls2 somewhere? or i place for it?

    The newer alum 6.0s dont come with the oil level sensor in the pan...

    So they dont have a low oil lever sensor ANYWHERE? How would someone know if they were low on oil?

    Nothing in the pan. Now there could be something in the DOD or the VVT circuits on the motor. But all of that is gone with the retrofit. You know when the engine starts making alot on noise..LOL
