    HELP please

So i started my cam swap today, i have some questions:
    1. The mechanical fan, what do i do with it, and how do i remove it.

    2. do i need to pull the radiator to get the cam in and out, if so what are some tricks to do that.

    3. i cant get the spark plug wires off the plugs. i pulled on the rubber and the metal shields and nothing, im not a little guy so i wondering if im just being a wuss or is there something holding on the plug wires.

i have been fallowing the LS1howto cam swap, but i have never done this. thanks for all the help.

You might consider paying someone else to do it. You seem in over your head like I was my first cam swap. I cheated though. My engine was not in the truck.

Fan is a bear to get off. You will need large crescent 2*4 and a ford tool/bfh. Reverse threads by the way. Go to autozone by a haynes manual. I am not certain on the radiator. Cross that bridge when you get there. Also I have no idea what I am talking about don't trust what I say. Hopefully someone more technicaly advanced than me will jump in and correct me.

Mechanical fan: What Zeake said and maybe hammer it to break the torque

Cam swap: PM "06 4.8" (Chad) and he'll be able to point you in the right direction

Plug wires: I used channel locks to grip the metal sleeve and just yanked them off. Bite the sleeve with both jaws of the channel locks gripping one side of the sleeve so you don't end up smashing the whole plug boot

You just have to keep pulling and wiggling the plug wires. The radiator does have to come out. Don't forget the tranny cooler lines! I would leave the fan attached to the water pump, its not that difficult to maneuver around. Just pull the shroud and unbolt the water pump.
