    first time new truck

    this is first time ive worked on these trucks

    how do i take tourque converter off it not like the old sbc i cnt get wrench behind flywheel
    1999 z71 5.3 shorty headers,T/B spacer,no muffler,

    If I remember right you pop out the steel plug on the bottom or the bell housing and shove a screw driver in the flywheel teeth and pull starter to access the torque converter bolts

    pull the starter, put a 15/16 socket on a ratchet and turn the crank to access the 3 converter bolts, 6 if you have an 80e.
    then you finish pulling the transmission bolts

    NO PROBLEM!

    so what was the reason to pull it? tranny went out? stall going in? new tranny?

    tranny went out. put rebuilt 60e wit 6mon warranty an new verter wit year warranty goin in it

    got the trans in an i have a line that fell off it looks like a vent line from the motor that lays on top of trans where does it go

    there is a tube on top of the trans that it goes to, the other end goes to a plug up in the engine bay iirc.

    if its like a 1/8" line or something small like that, it goes to the top of the tranny line, it's a vent line like mottrhed said. it has a check valve like thing on it, it doesnt have to go straight up to the engine bay, you can put it anywhere as long as it doesnt suck in dirt. the GM dealers had mine just hanging when they pulled my tranny so i tie wrapped it out the way.

    I had a leftover vent hose when i swapped my trans and there's actually a few others that have had the same...
    Big slow mud truck with a TUNE!!!!!!
