    Help me speed up this k1500

    lol as the title says i need some help i aint got a ton of money so ya right now she'll hit low 10s on 1/8 its a 97 5.7 single cab long bed throttle body spacer...air intake bosch +4 plugs...3in lift 33in tires lookin for more power and suggestions to hook up it spins bout the first 40ft lol looking to get some hedders and? cam upgrade? stroke her to a 383 throw some figures at me people

    I'm guessing here, but I think he's referring to the way you type. You might also want to add what gears you have... On second thought he might be referring to this being a LSx forum, not a gen II forum.

    o im sorry but i saw some gen 2s and some 1st gens and figured it wouldnt hurt you know?? lol my gears are 342 i believe

    Most of the info you will find on here is LSX stuff. Nothing against Gen II but you can do so much more with the later stuff...especially with tunes. If you are concerned with speed only, then ditch the 33s and ride on something with a little less rolling resistance...and a little lighter. Cam would be good (I can't tell you what size) Headers would help as well. If you know someone who can do the engine work (boring) obviously more cubes equals more hp.

    Bottom line...HP costs money and they are directly proportional, i.e. more hp means more money. Everyone on here will tell you that.

    Yeah but the computer crap is what allows a Gen IV 5.3 to out-perform a Gen II 5.7.

    they out preform my 5.7 cuz they have been tweeked for 10-15 more years i think chevy should look back into the old 350 it lasts forever and can be built for some crazy speed
