Question Is this a good deal for a complete LQ9?

Hey everyone, im completing my shopping list, I have all the little knick knacks to do this swap now comes the engine. Anyway i have a line on an 02 HO 6.0 with 127k complete with all accessories, harness, and computer with a 6 mo warranty for $1,300. Just wondering if this is a good deal. I can get 5.3's all day long at $600-$700. I figured since it's an lq9 it may be worth the extra coin for the 50hp gain over a 5.3

the complete harness/accessory package is nice, but i would pass due to mileage.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

I little high for the mileage I would think. I picked up one complete with everything for 1600 with 30k miles on it.

well i dont know how it is in texas but up here in illinois everyone must thing vortec engines are made of gold. it would run me over $3000 for that with 30k. i didnt think it was too bad, i see these engines every day with 200k+ on them and they run perfect. I was gonna go through it, new head gaskets, freshen up the heads while they are off, maybe a valve jobber. It depends, I planned to start it on the stand and see how it runs before i do anything

im not looking to race this thing, its my daily driver. i pull a trailer a lot so thats why i am doing this, the puny tb 350 is just pathetically under powered

That does seem like a really good price to me. As long as your towing and you dont mind the mpg then get it. I found this in my local craigslist earlier today. Chevy LQ4 and 4l80e,86 swb silverado

well i was scooped! went to buy it and somebody beat me to it by like 10 minutes. so now the new plan is to cam a 5.3 and give it a proper tune and hopefully be at the same power levels as the lq9. And i should be able to do it for less since the 5.3's are half the cost of the 6.0. What do you guys think?
