computer and cd player

I have an 02 ext silverado. but to save money we ended up buying a base package with manual windows. my current cd player is in bad shape. I wanted to know if anyone has tried putting an 04 cdplayer in an 02 or if its possible. I know it will fit but someone told me the computer might not recognize it because its vin sensitive. I wouldn't be worried but my dads 04 pickups sound system is amazing and mine becomes unclear with even the slightest volume( not sure if its the speakers or the cd player. I was going to wire in my amp to the rear speakers and run some subwoofers. Well at least i'm going to try. lol.

I have been trying to upgrade to the bose sound system, as it currently only has the single circular speakers, but realize its impossible to switch door panels because the speaker pannel gets in the way with the window handle. any ideas. (maybe just cut holes and mount the speakers.

bose systems in cars are over rated. the home entertainment radios are very nice but im not as impressed with bose packages in most cars. i am very picky about my sound quality and can tell you that you can replace your factory speakers with a nice aftermarket speaker and get the same sound for alot less money.

infinity probably makes the best affordable door speakers in my opinion. pioneer and sony are right up there with them. try and find a 3 way speaker for your doors and good mid speakers for your rear speakers.i dont recomend a 3 way speaker for your rear speakers because tweaters in you left ear are unbearable! its horible if your in a single cab, and if your in an extended cab youll be saving your back seat passengers ears.

i have a few OEM cd players for the silverado(with the built in amp and fans). if the 02 CD player is the same as the 01 models, shoot me a PM and im sure we can work something out.
