i see NO use in going 80E unless youre putting down over 500+ rwhp but then again i seen some sick trucks putting down over 600-700 through a 60E

    sorry couldnt help ya.

The 80e is much stronger than the 60e without a doubt. You prob don't need it until you get in the higher HP ranges (500+) but if you've got it and plan on adding some serious power, go for it!

You can get around 450 on motor with heads and cam so if you plan on spraying, I would throw it in.

Well i am in the process of doing the swap right now. I should have the truck running fri. I hear that the better 80e or from 02 and up. I was lucky to find a 02 with 43k miles on it for $800. As far as the gear ratio you are right, but hey thats what they make diff gears sets for the rear for. I will probally be changing mine but will wait to see how see acts. As far as the converter go's, you can go with a 6 bolt converter and use a 6.0 fly wheel, or do what I did and get a cat 3 bolt race fly wheel and yank, or circle d can build you a converter that will bolt right up to it. I went with the yank very nice guy and super fast shipping. Hope this helps Nick

4.8 doesn't mean anything, and if its a stock 80e its gonna be a dog out the hole.
