Thread: thermostat install

    anyone have a writeup, pics, or just some tips on installing a 160 degree thermostat? for my '04, it uses the stock housing, and I just replace the thermostat. any help is appreciated!

    me and bluecajun did his truck i think he got his from hypertech and it wasnt just the stat it was all one unit the stat and the housing. took like 30 mins. now i dont know if you can just change the stat and keep the stock housing. hope that helps

    the '04s are not built into the unit...it is a regular ole thermostat like the old style.

    I bought mine through Hypertech also. I don't think you can buy a 160 from the auto parts store Hit Man X.

    Yeah, I've never looked for a 160° at a parts store. lol I run a 180° in my F150 as it's got the old school design thermo in it.

    got mine from TByrne. It reuses the housing.
