depends on what part of 00 it was made. later 00 had 241 heads

a buddy of mine is selling LS1 heads cheap, but he says they are 843 heads are they any good for my 99 silvy 5.3L? right now its completly stock but i plan on getting a cam soon. or am i better off keping my heads?Originally Posted by Quik

Yes, they will fit. The 843 heads (on a LS1) have a 67cc size. The 862 heads you have now have a 61.15cc size. Throwing on those heads won't be good cause they really don't flow that much better and they will drop your CR, giving you a little more sluggish performance.

compression on 5.3 will be 8.8 and they flow the same as your stock heads. So not worth it unless you were doing boost and watned a lower SCR
