    97 z71 350 to 5.3 swap

I was wondering if you know anyone who makes an adapter to plug the 99 5.3 trans plug-in to the 97 4l60e plug.

The plug is the same, but are the pins in the same place? What would the 5.3 computer need as far as input to run the trans. Such as rpm, speed, ect...
I was also curious about the 88-99 trucks as far as functional gauges on the factory cluster with the new comp and 5.3, and little stuff that goes in the electrical center such as the wiper motor.

    Crash,
You've come to the right place. This site will be one of your best sources for info. The gauges in your truck are pretty simple. Speedo is run off the DRAC so you can send output signal from new computer to DRAC and let it do its thing like old computer, or you can send output signals to speedo, cruise, and abs seperately. Just make sure you know which are 2000ppm, 4000ppm, or 128,000ppm. Do a search for VSS and DRAC, it will give you a good start.

The coolant will probably be a three wire CTS so do a search for that too.

Im into the same thing right now and the search has been a huge asset.

I know what you are going through. It is alot to absorb, just do the searches and make notes of where you found the helpful info. This way you can go back and find it when the time comes to actually do the install. I've also found great info by doing searches for lt1swap

It's alot to think about but it will turn out ok. My biggest single piece of advice to you is not to rush it and half ass it just to get it running like I did. Take your time and do it right the first time it's alot easier that way than to go back and have to rewire and loom crap with an engine and tranny in the way.
