    Whats a good rear diff?

I have a 99 silverado with a 5.3. Tryin to find a rear diff that will take some abuse. Have had the truck 2 years and broke the spider gears twice and broke some teeth off the ring gear a few months ago. Any suggestions?

Add some Yukon or Motive gears. Addition of the TrueTrac will help.

its a auto. I put a new auburn limited slip in it the second time the spider gears broke. and replaced the ring and pinion with one from Yukon gear. Its 4.10 gears. I broke the teeth right of the ring gear screwing around in the rain. It is on the second trans soon to be third!!

Yeah, typically when the rearend goes, it takes the tranny with it unfortunately.

Make sure to get some strong gears with a good locker.

Do I need to go bigger than the little 8.625in 10 bolt? or can I build that to take some abuse?

the 8 1/2" ten bolt is a really good rear for what is is. and you only have a handfull of mods, maybe 30 hp over stock. and its in a relatively light truck you shouldn't be breaking it. nevermind breaking it over and over again. Maybe the housing is bent. does it wheel hop?
