Trophy Truck 67 and Street 64
My 67 is the first truck I can call my own. And I've never driven it! I brought it to my house on a trailer with a tired 305 and leaking Powerglide. Pulled it out that week and gave it away (stupid I know). Intentions were to have a 4x4 sand truck on about 40's. Got an old 64 Corvette 327 and built the upper end, it already had flat tops in it on about 5k miles. Dyno'd it at 350/360. Bought a Mad Dog 700r4 (don't buy these) and a np205 T-case. Bolted it all together and put it in, fired it up, never drove it because I didn't have running gear yet. Got the whole thing sandblasted only to find about 40 spots where body work had been done. Then my buddy told me about an LQ9 with 4L65 for sale. Sold the 327 for $2400 and got the new motor and trans with only 10k on it. Took my bare truck to AA Fabrication, was going to 4 link it myself front and rear but Adam said he would help me out with it. Decided to build it strong enough to jump it in the dunes but I went to the King of the Hammers this year and fell in love with desert racing. Soooo 4 linkin the rear with A arms up front and a 700 horse N/A LSX 442 is the plan. King Shocks, 14 Bolt, Th400, full cage, boxed frame, basically some of the most impressive fab work is already into this truck and I have nothing to show for it yet lol. I could go and tell you how crazy it's going to be but nobody will believe me so I'll just leave it at that lol

This was my high school project and dam was it fun!!! Should've never sold it

And this was my first truck (Dad's). Just put a fresh 383 in it built and machined by me. I owed him some horsepower for how many transmissions I put him through during high school

Now for the 64. I kinda got bored waiting to work on the 67 due to no room in the shop and other priorities. So I picked up this really clean truck for $650. It ran but had no brakes. Well I ripped it ALL apart. All the body panels are in great shape except the two front fenders. I'm well on my way with this truck already and it's only been 2 months. Got my LQ9 and 4L65 from above going into it, with lots of help from Gasguzzler I got my harness down to where it just needs to be loomed now. Engine is fully rebuilt with ARP rod, head and balancer bolts, F-body pan, Clay Smith Cam, double roller timing set, Scorpion rockers, hardened pushrods, PEP springs, ported heads and oil pump, LS1 intake and hopefully some bigger injectors in a few days. Got a 3600 Performabuilt stall thanks to DUMPD04, deep trans pan. Just got hydroboost, and Sway Away reservoir coilover shocks. Going to do a quicky triangulated 4 link in the rear with a narrower disc brake rear end. Got all my fuel system lined up, hopefully an A1000 with peterson filter and A1000 reg. All hardline. Going to weld in a custom dash like in the 67 but I may do a racepak. Have some NBS silverado seats and console for it. Just got done rebuilding my steering column. In the process of rebuilding my steering gear box seals at the moment. Have all the front sheet metal hot tanked and ready to be sanded and primered. Going to wire wheel and undercoat the frame here very soon and pull off the cab so I can cut my frame down. Making it a little shorter than a short bed. Got the chassis wiring all set up already. Just need to repaint the interior, put in all new rubber and new windshield, and make get the front disc conversion with drop spindles and new tie rod ends coming. This truck should go together much quicker. I give it 6 months til I can drive it if my fundings are consistent.

So progress is going along alright. For both trucks. Should have some bypass shocks coming for the 67 in the next month or so from King. Got my lower links cut out on the plasma cam the other night. Just got to weld them together. As for the 64 I got the cab off tonight and plan to destroy the grease, grime and rust on the frame tomorrow with the good ol' wire wheel and take out any unnecessary crossmembers before I start to cut the frame down.

It fits in there pretty good..

Got the frame cut down and all the unnecessary bracketry cut off

More Progress
Well now its time to finish the trans mount, run some power steering hoses, build the steering box, and install the front suspension and disc kit.
