    Question Weird vibration

    Weird vibration….

I went for a ride in my truck today and I rarely get it up to 120+ after I blew the drive shaft out 2 years ago, well today on the interstate I got it up over 120 and I felt the same thing over again the vibration started off by my feet the came up the shifter very violently so I hit the brakes what does this mean?

Im going to bring it back to the guy that did the four link and let him look it over along with the pinion angle ect.

Should I tell him somthing else to check?

should i bring the drive shaft back to NORTHSHORE DRIVE LINE where i had it made??

    could it be somthing else??

    Thanks

does it vibrate at all on a hard launch? If its pinion angle, its gotta be some rediculous degree. sounds like a possible loose heim in the four link, bad tranny mount, or driveshaft out of balance. Id say have them rebalance it!

Overdrive trans and 120 MPH is huge DS speed. Unless the pinion angle is waaaaay off, there's a bad u-joint, or the trans mount is toast I'd say you have an imbalance in the DS or longitudinal runout.

ok ill take it out and have them reballence it and see what they say

when i had them make it i had them put in the grease less u joints they said they were the strongest but i dunno

when i take it out ill also check the tranny mount ....

last time the drive shaft came out i had to replace the tranny be cause it warped the tail saft and messed up all the sycronizers so i just got a new one

oh and im sure something is miss spelled ha ha ha

if your not breaking it, your not driving it hard enough.

well sat. we scaled the truck out messed with the preload and messed with the pinion and we also moved the rear bars a little ... havent got up to top speed yet to see if the vibration was still there but it leaves straight and hooks alot better

if this isnt the problem then im going to take out the drive shaft and make sure its ballenced correct

oh yea it hit the scales at 4559 lbs (this is before we messed with the four link and set the preload)......my truck needs a diet hahaha

I'm pretty sure you'd notice a imbalance in shaft WAY before 120mph. Have you check tires recently? I'm not sure HOW bad it's vibrating, but I know nothing is wrong with mine, and even at 130 it starts shaking a bit.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

well i guess im going to check that also

but it will start vibrating around 80 and the faster you go the more it shakes...

im going to chech the drive shaft first because thats part is free !!!!
