    PCM Swap on NNBS Trucks

Today Im gonna install this chicks new Nelson Tune for her 08 silverado and Ive never done it before on any new truck. The instructions seemed pretty simple besides that she might have to go get a crank relearn, but where is the PCM located and is there anything else I should be aware of?

same location as the Classic Body style. (next to power steering Pump)

Both should be on the bracket.

It's weird looking and smaller if it's a 6-speed auto.

Do you have to do the passkey relearn procedure everytime and can the vehicle be driven for after for a bit until it can be taken to a shop for the crank relearn? Has anyone installed the pcm and it start right up with no problems?

Not common but possible to start and run without a theft learn (assuming the tuner does not have the VIN). Some tuners take the VIN and get as much of the theft done before shipping. Running it without the CASE or CKP relearn won't hurt it just won't be efficient and might set false misfire codes. My tune is a week old and although it started and ran fine I brought all my equipment home and did the theft and CKP before taking it out on the road and snapshotting some runs.

When you get new modules for the NBS, you must perform a security relearn and a crank relearn. Yes you can drive it for awhile to get to a shop.
you will not have to perform this again with the tuned modules you have now!!!!
Later down the road if we send another set, these two procedures must be performed. Unless you send the ones, we sent to you the first time!

    Thanks
