    Potential new owner in DFW

    What's up, everybody?

I'm currently looking at a '99 GMC regular cab with a 5.3. It has 129k. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for as far as problems? I understand the 5.3 to be a pretty stout little engine with a lot of life if treated right.

As far as mods the only thing I would do is get a nice cam and exhaust work done.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

They are stout motors for sure. Dont start by saying the "only thing you do will be" though. You will end up like the rest of us always adding parts haha. Good luck with the buy and welcome

The engine should be one of the only things that doesn't need repairs.

like i said on the shout box, ask the previous owners if the oil pump or the oil sending unit have been replaced, it seems they have issues around 100,000 miles

Make sure Garrisson (LamboDoNoMo) wasn't a previous owner.
