Mustang GT:AWD Talon:Hatch

Went out to the meet last night in 183. Met up with Jon and Kurt and hung out for while. Had a lot of young guns talkin to me about my truck, then an older guy walks up and asks me if I want to do a couple runs with his Newer GT. I say sure, me and one of the guys I was talking to load up and head out over to the GT.

His GT: Full bolt ons, 4.10s(they might come stock with those?), tuned.

We cruise out to Mexico to get a couple roll runs in. First one is a 40 punch. Worst spot in the truck but I oblige anyway. I honk it off, he jumps out to half a car. The 12lbs. of fury kicks after what felt like an eternity because I was at 40 and I start to walk by.

Turned around and got back on the freeway. Went from a 30, which is pretty sweet spot for me. We almost stopped on the damn freeway which was pretty nerve wrecking. I honked it off again, spun a little but, but hooked and proceeded to put 1-2 lengths on him by 110. It was a good race, real nice guy and wife of his. They asked me if I turned up the boost on the second run bc I left them so hard. I was like nah its just the first time we went from a 40 is like the dead zone in my truck.


SECOND RACE:

I left there around 12 and was heading home the backway. I saw an AWD Talon and a civic hatch keep going at it from light to light on this highway. I decided to just hang behind and whenever they went I would just stay right in the back of them.

The talon kept pulling the civic so I went around both of them and Im pretty sure they were shocked when they saw my jet blasting by. I finally got lined up next to the talon and we went from a stop. I didnt get pulled too hard off the line, about a car, but I made up for it pretty quick and passed him.

It was a fun night though. I haven't had a good couple races like that in a while. Sorry for the long story.

Sweet Ducky...Yeah there was alot of crap there last night. I got a rematch lined up with the head/cammed viper too. I got a extra 120-175hp at the wheels for this one.... One the way home last night there was a couple of civics or something that was running infront of Kurt and I in the S10, So I downshifted and we actually stayed behind them for a while in the S10 LMAO.....

I know what you mean about 40 being a dead zone cuz my truck is the same way. I blame the combination of the 4L60 and STS kit for having so much lag around 40. And yes, a 30 punch will definitly plant you in your seat. Sounded like a fun night and I agree with GasGuzzler. I love hearing about a LS1 truck blowing the doors off a rice rocket and especially a mustang
