I'm about to filally get Allen to tune me, but first..I gotta be refreshed on all the different kinds of stuff he can do, so maybe someone can help me.

What the pros/cons of the 87, 89, and 93 octane tune?

What the hell is a dual octane tune and what's it do?

Any other info/suggestions y'all might have would be great too.

I'm debating on whether to get a tune, a pistol, or some more DJ'ing equipment. I want the tune, but just wanted to make sure it was worth the money first..yeah call me cheap, but oh well...
    Thanks

well you need to go with allens hot tune..it's the 93 octane tune with all the torque managment deleted...he can fix your speedo so its right as you have bigger than stock tires...shift points and firmness of the trans also...you want your moneys worth..get this one...it will also get you more mpg as it did with almost everybody else...you will be very impressed with the tune..guy here had the dual tune and changed it for the hot tune in no time...

Higher octane fuel resists detonation, meaning you can run more timing advance. I burn 93...it's only a few dollars more to fill up each time. Just skip fast food weekly... hell after a while, you'll save even more once you're grossed out by that stuff like me.

Got me on the Dual Tuning...

You'll pick up MPG sure, but other stuff with it is nice. TCC lockup times. AC off at WOT. EGR off if you want. Rear O2s off. Speedo correction. Higher low throttle and WOT shift points.

No need to go with dual octane. I did and was not happy with the tune. The tune was good but I knew that I had more power to gain with the 93 hot tune.

Since I had both, I would recomend only the 93 hot tune. The 6.0 really woke up and the shifts are great with no torque management. You would be suprised at the power you have through the shift points and how it pulls.

Also, just think, you cant drive a pistol every day

Very true about the pistol! Will my tranny hold up with all of the TM removed, or should I just get like say, 75% removed?? After having to just buy a new engine, I sure as hell dont wanna buy a new tranny as well.

When I did mine I talked to allen on a phone call. He was very helpfull and pleasant to deal with. He suggested since I have the 4L80e that all torque management could be removed. With his suggestion I had it removed.

I dont drive the truck real hard, dont take it to the drag strip (other than to be a spectator) so I feel very comfortable with all tq mng gone.

call allen, he will lead you in the right direction. BTW, I have several hand guns and would suggest to save your money and buy both
