p1870 and truck hard to start..

Truck has died on me a few times and would take about 15 min to start and I would have to press the gas down. I am thinking I need a fuel pump but I am getting 2 codes that say p1870.. I have been wanting a walboro 255 anyways and clean out my tank. I think there might be trash or the sock may be messed up.. What do you guys think?

Turn the key to the ON and OFF position about 10 times, this will prime the fuel lines and rails, if it starts right away, you know it's fuel pump related, if not...

I also tried that this morning, didnt work.. Only seems to start if I hav ethe gas pressed down.. But when I was getting the tuning done, at WOT it would drop its booty off with fuel, going lean as all can be..

1870 is a trans code and does not have anything to do with a starting problem.

You said you had two codes. What's the other?

They were the same codes.. Tranny has been rebuilt as well as converter.. What kind of transmission could could it be?

P1870 is transmission component slipping. Depends on the failure record. There are valve body issues and the T/C and or T/C tune can cause this. Obviously burnt clutches can as well.

I had this code. It can disable 4th gear and make ur trans shift really hard, Tons of fun....not

when the truck was tuned there were still trans issues, cause it didnt last 200 miles, but it did not through codes then or even the next time I replaced the trans.. After the third time, the pumps, valve body's, clutches and TC all got redone. I even had the TC restalled to a 2800-3000
