    Iron 5.7L/ ex-5.3L

How many of you guys are building or have built 5.7L's from iron 5.3L/4.8L blocks? Just wondering, i'm doing so right now and i'm not sure of what to expect. Just hoping this bastard motor runs like a scolded monkey.

I'm wanting to do this. Either buy a v6, and run that for a bit and rebuild my 4.8, or get a 5.3/4.8 and have it built, and pull my 4.8

Can't wait to see yall's builds (just had to decide either try using you guys, or just use yall, yall fits way better! ). Give me something to look forward to!

I built and installed quite a bit of iron 5.7's and 383's from the 5.3L block.
The 5.7 is a nice strong engine, don't expect turbo power, but you'll have a nice strong engine with a broad power band, depending on the heads and cam.
I like 10.5 to 10.9 cr with the iron 5.7L.
The NA 383 is really strong engine, ie 6.2L!!!

If you bore the 5.3 to a 5.7, is it safe to still run 10+psi of boost or a big shot of nitrous? Just want to make sure the cylider walls wouldn't be too thin.

The 5.7 LS1 is an aluminum block and the 5.3 is an iron block.
