    Get some 4.10's and a 3600.

    EDIT - on a 4.8 get 4.56's and a 4000.

It will rob low end for sure. .... how much and whether its too much would be debatable.

which i already have a 3000 circle d stall with 373s in the rear which price wise he told around 1500 for the complete install and cam and all. i was thinking more of a 224/224 112lsa how would that cam do and looking for a good lope at idle

If you want a raunchy idle and would still like to maintain most of your low-end power, and 3000/373 setup, take a look at GM's LS1 Hot Cam (218/227 .525/.525 112).
It has a fairly early intake valve closing event, so you'll get some decent low-end power with your 4.8.

    Here's an idle clip:

this topic is over and over again. ppl dont realize a 4.8 is a tinyass motor. the gears and stall you run typically for a larger motor dont work so well with the 293. the 4.8 is modernday 302 if you think of it. short stroke so it can rev. you can get away with a decent cam in the 4.8 but you need the supporting mods. you need to spin the motor 7k-7500. doing so you need gears to help you thru the rpm range and large stalls.

a 3k stall is for a stock motor honestly. 373s unless your running 26" tires arent enough.

or you could settle for a small cam in the 4.8. even then your stall and gears are to small

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

depends on what hte ttruck is trapping now with rpms. you could expect 3/10s but that is a general estimate

rpm wise going thru traps. installation of gears help or hurt a motor. ideally you want to be at peak power crossing traps. so you gear and tire for those rpms
