    Calling all 2500hd owners

Hey guys... I've been looking into buying a GMT900 2500hd. I like the lines and i need something to pull a travel trailer. I've been looking at the 6.0 trucks. I can't afford a duramax right now. I was woundering how owners like them. I also wanted to know what kinda mpg these are getting. I've heard they get better than the last gen trucks, but no numbers for sure. Any help from you guys would be great.

i really like my 04.5 and yes its a duramax and i understand not being able to afford one, everything is expensive on this thing but worth it IMO and i sacrificed getting a GMT900 so i could get a D-Max worth it IMO but if your not towing much (weight) or heavy load not very far the 6.0 does good just no awesome turbo noises also one thing to look at i have a 04.5 and my warranty just went out on it if u find a low miles 05 06 for cheap with a D-Max you will have a warranty i dont think the 6.0 had 100k warranty

An 07 GMT800 would have a 100K mile powertrain warranty with no deduct where as the DMax has a $100 deduct and it's technically only a diesel warranty, doesn't cover the front axle, transfer case, transmission, rear axle or even all the stuff bolted on the engine. The DMax costs a lot more to maintain properly and burns fuel that costs a lot more (although it gets better mileage the fuel cost is still higher than a 6.0). If you are pulling 3K+ more than 50% of the time you need a diesel, otherwise only get one if you REALLY want one AND can afford it. The 6-speed auto is only in the GMT900 body. Never heard of a 2500 with a 6.2 but I guess anything is possible.
