What do you guys think about using aN LPE cam, and COMP springs on a 5.3? OR...the comp cams cam with their programer with their rockers. I just saw an article on the LPE 5.3 cams in a magazine and wondered what the difference was on the street (they did the dyno numbers with just the motor). I was wondering if its worth loosing the amount of HP/TQ they did at the bottom end, with BOTH cams they tested. I belive the mag was CHEVY HIGH PERFORMANCE, or CAR CRAFT.......It seems like if you had a higher stall converter you wouldnt feel it as much. BUT without the converter its a drop of 20HP, and around 10 for TQ lost at 2,200 RPM's. What ever opinions you guys have I'd like to hear'em.

That larger cam killed cruise TQ which is a bad thing in a heavy truck. A stall will make up for it in the drag scene tho'.

I still like this cam... Lobe Numbers: 3710/3713 214/220@.050 (267/273 adv) .559/.564 114LSA Run that cam with springs like the Comp 918s, the extra lift is free power.

Good low end power and topend pull, good lift numbers for free power. If I didn't have my 218/222 that's probably what I'd order. The lobes are pretty quick on it also so the idle will be nice too.

Those two LPE ones had odd specs to me...

I am far from an expert and have little clue as to what the numbers mean, but a friend of mine who works on those stupid Chevy concept vehicles says that he likes the Comp Cam part 54-408-1 for the 5.3. He says it is a good everyday cam that will give you a good boost in performance. It may not be what you are looking for... but I just thought that I would throw it out there.

Do you guys think that the crane cam will pass the sniffer in california, AND what do you guys think about the crane cam programer compared to the HPP3? It seems like the crane cams programer will be more designed to work WITH the cam instead of with a STOCK set-up like the HPP3. What do you guys think?
