    And it starts...

so i've decided to add some performance parts to the truck. however, i'm a complete because i've been mostly into cars. so i already know that i'm going to go with the STS turbo kit since it requires few mods for the kit to work efficiently. that being said, is there any advice for the mean time that you guys have for me? i want to get cams, headers, etc but what's really needed? as far as headers go, which is better L/T or S/T? all i have performance wise the the volant cai and custome exhaust with cut out. thanks in advance!!

don't buy headers for an sts turbo system, that is a waste of money.

ok...so headers are out...is there anything as far as internals go that i should look into buying? i know fuel rail/injectors are no brainers...but anything else? and seeing that i have the LM7 motor, are there any stroker kits available?

Your stock fuel rails will work fine. Get 60# injectors, cam, Aftermarket springs and push rods. Boost gauge, wideband air/fuel gauge. Nelson tune.
Don't forget to order you a built trans.
You'll also need a posi rear end (Detroit trutrac, eaton posi, auburn)

    Slow down Sally...

Take your time and read and read some more - and of course ask questions.

Our trucks only have one cam.

STS is good but there are better options.

    Stock fuel rails are fine.

i've been doing research for almost a month now...that's why i concluded on the sts setup. however, i still would like to build the motor. for an 01 with under 60k original miles on it, i want it to last through a lot. it seems to be lil bit more difficult to research cause of the motor, which is why i resulted to asking q's. i had an idea to do a manual swap, but didn't want to go that indepth. so the rear end needs to be beefed...thanks again fellas...any constellation, i'm justing Parish's silverado as motivation!!

You won't be using either of them anymore.
