I haven't had one sign of a problem untill I got ready to start my truck 30 minutes after I last drove it today. It turns over fine and will try to hit some if I just lightly hit the starter. A GM mechanic said to bump the gas tank with a rubber mallet while someone was trying to start in to shock the fuel pump in case in was stuck but that didn't help. I am 20 miles from home so I am limited to what I can do here. The truck is an 01 Silverado with a LS1. It has a full tank of gas.

    Same problem here.
Mine did that two days ago: full tank of gas, no engine lights, turn over but no start. Went inside and came back out 30 mins later and it started up just fine.
Haven't had the problem since, but I am thinking that my fuel pump is going out....or...there is something wrong with my pcm and i need to get it retuned by Allen. So far, I haven't been able to get in touch with him. 6 calls, and 3 messages...but nothing...guess he's busy.

My guess also is fuel pump, my truck only has 44k on it. I have tried several times about 30 minutes apart but no luck.

    Oh and if this helps.
I went to a mechanic today and ran a diagnostic. They didn't pull up anything wrong???
Well they did, but it wasn't related to the problem you and I are having with the no start. I ended up having to fix a faulty pressure control electrical selenoid in my transmission. Yea....a whopping $330
Let me know if you find out what the problem is.

Only 66K on my truck.......still doesn't make any sense why diagnostic didn't pull anything up.

So far it looks like I have no fuel pressure and no fuel pump running, according to the repair manual there is supposed to be a place to jump across and activate the fuel pump in the fuse box but I haven't found it yet. Also I have no diagnostics scan tool which looks like may be purchashed in the very near future. Who makes a good scan tool?

Truck is running, I think the fuel pump was stuck because it started after I thumped the gas tank with a rubber mallet while the wife was trying to start it. Chances are it will do it again so for now I am carrying the mallet with me.

Yep, the mallet will work pretty well for awhile.
Let me know how much it costs ya to replace that thing because I'm sure I will be replacing my fuel pump soon.

According to Nelson people are using the Walbro 255 lph pump and they cost under $125. Auto zone wanted around $330
