    Slicks

Alright heres the idea. I am completely new to the idea of slicks. I want to skip the DR stage. Since the only time Ill be running this is on the track. I have a set of stock wheels laying around. Which of these would be better. They are within 6 bucks of each other. I am hoping you vets can guide me. The M&H brand makes a 26*12*16.... but I dont know if it would fit... Seems like it could or MOST LIKELY is too wide. The Hoosier brand makes a 28*10*16 Which I think should fit. Anyone got advise for me? Or if you know of a slick that would be more up my alley im open to suggestions.

M&H has been around forever, there a pretty sticky tire. hoosier is also a good tire. a 10.5in wide tire will be plenty and you will took up fine.

Out of those two I'd go with the Hoosier brand 28*10*16 for sure but in the end more information would be helpful.

Basically when I get another Daily driver Im taking the 22s off of my truck and putting 18s on it with DRs. That should be in the fall. I dont see a point in having DR on a set of 16s as well. As well as I am working on a sts kit and probably a 75 shot with it. My as well get more then I need now so it works out good later.
As far as more info I really dont have much. This is a new world to me. I didnt realize how much I needed them till I spun like a 8th mile at SAR.

it makes more sense to have a DR on a smaller diameter rim for racing. the MT Drs have pulled better 60's then most could ever handle. mightymouse pulls 1.3s on a 315/35/17 MTdr and goes 8.7s @ high 150s

plus you dont get the shake and wobble you get from a bias tire. take a look at the tires the fast boys are running over on ls1tech in the FI section. All fastboys run a MT Dr. these are guys all making over 1k HP. none of them use a bias ply tire...whats that say?

lol, cars don't have the problem he has, so I would assume that they will hook a lot better. Right?

I think DR would be fine too, I personally don't like the feel of slicks when going down the track.
