Allen VVT on the new 6.2l question?

Here is where this question is coming from. I am purchasing the 6.2l & 4l80 trans today. The 6.2l has the new variable valve timing. If i were to get the new computer that goes with that motor would he be able to program it to work with my existing truck. Or is this a pipe dream. I ask this because it would be nice if i could get a boost in fuel economy while cruising on the highway. Is this even worth the hassle?

4L80E???/ What did this motor come out of? I was under the impression that the 6L80E is the tranny behind all 6.2's.

Yall would be correct the 6l80 is typically the trans that is behind it. Everything that i have read has said that the 4l80 will work with the 6.2. Ill be mating the motor and trans this weekend.

Not sure if there is an extra plug in the harness for the VVT? If there is you might be able to wire it in or might have to swap harness.

But your saying fuel economy so do you mean DOD?

Well after looking at the motor tonight. The 6.2l does not have the vvt on it. So there is no longer a need for this thread.

I just wanted to add that not all 6.2L have the 6L80e. GM is also putting in the 6L60e trannys behind the 6.2L.

6L60E? I dont think they make that trans.

If the 6.2L is a LS3 then it will not have VVT. All L92's have VVT though.
